Shiloh's Blazing Shadie Sadie
May 23, 1993
- July 15, 2005
"Sadie, Sadie Crazy Lady"
let me tell you the ways that we're going to miss you! My heart hurts because
you left us far too soon -- 12 years was not enough time old girl. I'll be
forever grateful for the legacy that you left me in your kids and grandkids. You
certainly left notice that you were here!
Sadie was one of only a handful of
liver/white dual champion bitches in the history of our breed. She
honored me by allowing me to
let her live at my house and let me pay her bills! She truly represented the Scipio tradition of love of
the field; intensity
and style on game and stamina to run with the heart she was born with. There was
always a right way, a wrong way and a Sadie way! Paul Doiron of Hidden
Valley Kennels somehow managed to survive the time that she spent with him. He
magnificently molded her drive and desire to keep her on the edge long enough
to finish her Field Championship. It only cost him almost a broken nose and a black
eye or two; in spite of it all, he still speaks of her with fondness.
She
was a multiple Best of Breed winning bitch that finished her show championship
with four majors. She went Best of Opposite Sex at the San Diego Brittany Club
Specialty from the Field Trial class in field condition. She also was a 1/2
sister to DC/AFC Shiloh's Blazing Coolhand Luke and DC/AFC Tule River
Full Moon Maggie.
Her first litter by DC Booker
Cooker produced two
puppies, one of which is
2X American Field
Champion
FC/AFC Shiloh's Blazing Tri'd N True
(Bernie) owned by Marc and Vicki Rittner. He was a Field Champion/Amateur Field
Champion by the age of three. He won
the 2003 Prairie States Shooting Dog Championship, and was RU at the 2003
ABC Gun Dog Championship. Bernie was the #1 Brittany and the #2 Pointing Breed dog for 2003 in AKC
Open Gun Dog stakes. He added a second American Field Championship that
year by
winning the Missouri Valley Brittany Club All Age Championship at Branched Oak,
NE.
Sadie's second litter was born in May of 1999 and was sired by
FC Sam-Dee's
Traveler. This litter was 11 puppies, three of which placed
in the 2001 West Coast Futurity. FC Shay-Dee Jake (owned by Don and Pat
Ball) won the All-Age Futurity finished his Field Championship in February 2002. He
also won the American
Brittany Club National All-Age Futurity run-off and was posted at the 2001
National All-Age Championship in Booneville, Arkansas. His littermate
FC/AFC
Shiloh's Blazin Mad About You
(Maddie)
won the Gun Dog Futurity the same year with her brother Traveler's Blazing Saddles taking
runner-up. Maddie also went Runner-up in the National Gun Dog Futurity in May of 2000 in Ionia, Michigan.
She was the youngest dog entered in the Gun Dog Nationals that year at 23 months
of age. She finished her Field Championship at 28 months.
In July of 2000 her second litter out of
FC Sam-Dee's Travler was born. This litter produced CH
Shiloh's
Somewhere In Time (dual
pointed) who
won Best in Sweepstakes at both the California Brittany Club Specialty and Golden Empire
Specialty; CH Shiloh's Uptown Girl went Best of
Opposite Sex at the California Brittany Club Specialty Sweepstakes. Two other
littermates are have proven themselves to be outstanding birddogs that have
provided many good times for their owners. FC Shiloh's Man About Town
(Manny) is owned by Linda McDonald and
FC Shiloh's Whoa Nellie MH (Nellie) by Karen Nelson. Nellie and
Manny are both trained and handled by Paul Doiron and Karen and Linda have
enjoyed many good times competing and winning with these great birddogs in amateur field trial
stakes and hunt test competitions.
Sadie, you live on in your kids and
grandkids. MS-T has your twirl, Bernie your obsessiveness; Maddie your single
minded purpose; and all have your love of the field; intensity and style on game
and stamina to run with the heart they were born with. Thanks for the memories
old girl you will be missed but not forgotten.
